147. The party may be over but ....

Calico Critters - what Hartly wanted

it’s now time to play!!

Kids’ Day yesterday seemed even more wonderful than usual. Lance, Sarah, Graham and our friend S all came and it felt like we all had a good time together. We all know each other a bit more now by celebrating this day every year for a number of years. We gave S presents for her kids Inside too (she’s also multiple) and Lance gave her presents too which was so thoughtful of him.

We haven’t seen S in a long time, almost a year, so it was especially great to see her. And to watch those ones who were present. Some of her kids came out too and were so cute. At least one of them kept hanging upside down from the couch trying to see Panda Bear, our cat, who was under the couch hiding from everyone. It was pretty funny and delightful.

Earlier Tee-Tee (3) and Lance made apple pie and pizza, watching Moby Dick on tv while doing it all. Stoene Boy (6st) and Hartly were out quite a lot for the day, both very excited about the celebration.

And yes, lots of cool presents. Even the grown-ups liked them. Yah we still get to play too. The advantage of being multiple.

And other presents too ... yippee

We noticed something yesterday that seems to happen more and more these days, these months, these years. We get “peopled” out more, no matter who they are. It’s as if we expend a lot of energy to be with other people then need time alone to sort of re-group. By 5:00 yesterday we felt pooped. So we told everyone to go home and we pretty much went straight to bed. But it took us quite a while to fall asleep. We thought about reading or watching tv but as usual these days, we didn’t want to take anything more in. Didn’t want to have to absorb anything “new”. Our brain needed a rest. And this has been happening a lot for us. We think that with so many of us not dissociating anymore means so many who need to process our relationships with others. Some go over what was said, what we did together. As if they/we are trying to understand who we are in relation to other people. It’s exhausting work. Wonder if we were integrated into one self if this would stop. Who knows?

Oh we did some number crunching yesterday. There are 184 of us. about 2/3 of this are not really active. About 67 of us are. In terms of ages and most of us aging we did a comparison. We didn’t all emerge and become known on one day. That has happened over a long period of years. It would have been way too overwhelming if we had. We call December 7, 1990 Emergence because it was the first time that some of us emerged. So, before that day here are our ages.

These are how old we were since we were created and then, as of this year, 2011, how old we are now.
-    94 of us were 12 years old or younger. Now there are only 12 of us under 13 years of age
-    27 of us were teenagers, ages 13 to 19. Now there are 33 of us still teens
-    only 3 of us were in our 20’s and now 71 of us are. This is an important number as only a few years ago most of this group were teens. And they were quite influential in terms of what we watched on tv, how we looked – what we wore, how we wore our hair, and in terms of what we talked about.
-    before Emergence 30 of us were in our 30s, now only 7 of us are.
-    30 of us were in our 40s and now only 1 is. that’s Tir (1).
-    none of us were in our 50’s before Emergence but 60 of us are now.
Pretty interesting numbers.

So here’s to Kids’ Day and children all over the world. They are the most precious of human beings and they are a gift to us all. They teach us so much as they come from some of the purest places. May we honour all of them and hold them with the deepest love. And may we win the battle over those who harm them intentionally. May we help those who abuse to find another way to heal their own wounds.
