"First Spring" by Liz Mitten Ryan
Oh we had a much better day yesterday. Went to visit Lance and that always makes our day. Stoene Boy (6st) (age 5) seemed especially glad to see Lance but others of us were happy about it too. Stoene Boy was determined to be quite silly too. We watched “Transformers II”. Tee Tee (3) (age 10) loves this movie and its prequel. About every half hour he will say to Lance “Did I tell you how much I like this movie?” Meanwhile, Stoene Boy kept going ... how do I write this.... whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa every time something really exciting and action-packed happened. And the other little ones just snuggled right up to Lance. Hey us big ones were all for the cuddling too. We missed Lance this week, as he was very busy with work so our quota of hugging and cuddling had not been met this week.
About the second or third time we met Lance, (he was going out with our friend), we had the strongest feeling that he would be a very important person in our life. It was on such an intuitive level. And we were right. He’s our best buddy now. We talk on the phone every day and see each other about every second day. He is so accepting of our multiplexity and has always been open to whoever came out and talked to him. We are truly blessed.
Graham, our son (age 31) is also very accepting. He loves the younger ones, loves to tease them. He has a very special relationship with Daffodil (4) (age 18) but also with Katy Ann (2) (age 24), Stoene Boy, Little Ruby (4) (age 14) and now with Hartly (age 4 we think). Graham is a man of humour. He makes everyone laugh, Lance included. He’s been a bit of a clown since he was quite young and he can mimic other actors and stand-up comedians really well. Sometimes so well, that we prefer him doing the routine.
He’s an artist too. Been drawing since he was 2 years old. His main preference has been comics. Throughout his growing up years he has drawn so many comics and in minute detail. Then he went to school for a year to learn how to do video game design. He is so passionate about it. We are so glad that he has found something to be passionate about, something that drives him. And we are so glad to have him as a son. He is warm and loving, a very caring young man, and full of life and fun.
See? We are very blessed. We have amazing people in our life. People who are intelligent, off the beaten path, caring and warm, accepting and a whole bunch of other things. That’s the kind of stuff we all need to sustain us.
