78. In the midst of terror (Then)

Katy Ann (2)

A letter from Patience (1)

Dear Sarah
I want to thank you for all the support and love you have given to us. You have helped us so much already. I want to thank you especially for all that you have given to Annie Charlie (1). The time you have spent with her has allowed us more time with Lyn to work on others. Annie Charlie needs a lot of love and attention, as do a lot of us, but she’s particularly good (and persistent) at letting us know. I think her very act of asking and receiving what she needs helps the whole system move closer to trusting the right people in order for us all to heal.

I love this system, Sarah, and everyone in it. All are worthy of being in this world and expressing who we are. There are some of us, such as The Controller (2), Old Self (2) and myself, who are not like the others. We do not carry the pain that they do. Rather, our task is to guide and inform the whole system. We consider ourselves to be Inner Self Helpers and maybe even Spirit Guides in some way. There is so much still to be learned about the workings of our system and I certainly do not know it all. The Controller and Old Self do, like the Elders of a tribe.

But we are all equal in our determination to see this through. Some are much more frightened than others and rightly so. The memories they carry are awful, and very painful. And there are others, such as Shell (1, 2), who have not had to deal first hand with those situations and it is them, and us who must help to carry those who are in terrible pain. Though we are strong, we cannot do it alone, without the help of Outsiders such as you and Lyn, as well as friends. Our strength may be the small seed that helps us begin this journey, but you are the ones watering it and tending to it in order for it to grow.

I think maybe our innermost desire is to give back the love that has been given us and to help remove the possibility of more terrible deeds done to such innocent children. We will not give up until our work is done. We will not give up till our world is healed. And we know it will take a very long time.

Thank you once again, Sarah. I look forward to a wonderful and long friendship with you. You are an inspiration to us all.

In the midst of terror
Gratitude sits in the midst of terror.

It is a clear voice that tells us
what is here
and now.
It helps us see
all that we can be grateful for
for friends,
for love,
for music,
for birds,
for the human heart
and all its depth of feeling;
for art,
for nature,
for our son
and for all children;
for all forms of life
and for death too
as the sweet ending
and return to the source;
for this world
and others,
for the spirits that guide us,
for wisdom
and for foolishness,
for the dark
and for the light,
for the self in its effort
to become whole
for madness
and for genius,
for power
and for weakness,
for the words
and for the silence;

we are grateful
in the midst of terror
