193. A new path

Well our journey is taking another path. We will be starting a new blog in addition to this one. This will be a blog written by people with a mental illness, a blog written by many. And it is so exciting. We put the word out to our support group last week to see if anyone was interested in helping us get it set up and becoming “editors”. It didn’t take long and we had 3 people very interested. Tomorrow will be the “Editorial Committee’s” first meeting. Our dreams may be big for this blog. Our hopes are that many people will want to contribute. We want to have personal stories, photos, artwork, poetry, information about mental illness, discussion topics and probably much more.

This project has been keeping us awake at night as we keep thinking about it and coming up with more and more ideas for it. It’s probably going to keep us fairly busy but we are going to do our best to keep this blog going too. Hmm. Could be tricky.

Yesterday was our son’s birthday. Graham turned 32. His dad David will be coming to town and we will celebrate with him and Graham and Lance on the 19th. Hanging out with those three is always a good time for us. They are three of our best friends and we just love being with them so much. So that’s going to get us more and more excited as well. There goes our sleep.

Five-year-old Hartly is consistently attracting Panda Bear’s attention. All she has to do is start chattering away about something or her and Stoene Boy (6st) get going and Panda Bear comes running to see what’s up. The two kids are so active these days and get even more active when we visit Graham and Lance.

Gawd our life is rich. Never a dull day. Oh there are times certainly when we get restless. A sign of boredom maybe. We tend to like a lot of excitement in our life though there are times peace and quiet is welcome. Especially when we go to Galiano. But there are still many of us active and some like to be doing lots of things. Reading good books, going to group, facilitating the support group, visiting with friends, and planning fun projects. We still manage to meditate most days and that helps anchor our feet to the ground still.

So, we must go. We have a lot of planning to do for tomorrow’s meeting. We’ll let you know when our new blog is ready so you can read it at least, and maybe even contribute to it.
